After a meeting with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, the president of the International Democratic Federation of Women (IDFW), Marcia Campos, said the conversation was of great significance for the planned meeting of women from the five continents.

She noted that they will analyze how to struggle for the freedom of the five Cubans unfairly imprisoned in the United States and to appose the wars of the US government to control oil, minerals and even water resources.

Campos said that they would also tackle other topics such as work, democracy and support for the peoples to Iraq, Palestine, Somalia and other regions of the planet.

The leader also said that before the congress two events will take place. One is the second conference of young women participating in IDFW, the World Congress of Women for Peace, a book fair about women, an international art craft and culture fair, and a music festival.
